Description Jazzolive started its activities with the main goal to popularize jazz by and for youngsters. The musical spectrum broadened throughout the years from jazz to world music. The activities expanded to a larger cultural-medium scope by including the organization of exhibitions and culinary evenings matching the featured musical themes, music competitions for young jazz composers and musicians (“Jazz Cat Rally”), workshops and master classes, and much more. During four years Jazzolive organized a public event every two weeks featuring a double-bill concert and the above activities in the public venue “De Maalbeek”, in Brussels. Over 100 bands have played on Jazzolive’s stage. Jazzolive quickly grew to being the place to be as a young person open to discover the many dimensions of the latest innovations of the Belgian and sometimes international jazz scene. Also for young jazz musicians Jazzolive became a natural choice to present their latest projects.
